Exclusion Policy

Non-Extractive Membership Standard

To protect local wealth and community well-being, HERE excludes extractive and harm-inducing industries from our membership and directory. This policy explicitly restricts adult entertainment, payday lending, check cashing, and fossil fuel businesses from joining our network.

Local Membership Standard

HERE membership is for independently owned and locally controlled businesses headquartered within the Portland-Vancouver metro area. Publicly traded corporations and national chain franchises are ineligible, as are concept stores managed from outside the region or Portland-addressed entities with no operational footprint or physical presence in our area.
